荔波的喀斯特地貌，犹如一部记录地球亿万年演化的史诗，诉说着大自然的宏大与神奇。2007年，荔波喀斯特入选世界自然遗产名录，成为贵州的“地质奇迹”。“它是一个独一无二的‘喀斯特范本’。”荔波县委常委、茂兰自然保护区管理局局长余登利向记者说道。

Libo's karst landscapes are like an epic that records billions of years of Earth's evolution,showcasing the grandeur and beauty of nature. In 2007,Libo Karst was recognized as a World Heritage site,earning the title of Guizhou's"geological miracle.""It is a one-of-a-kind'karst model,'"said Yu Dengli,a member of the Libo County Standing Committee and director of the Maolan National Nature Reserve Management Bureau.

与广西的喀斯特山地相比，荔波的圆锥形山峰低差不大，但它们却错落有致、连绵不断，宛如大自然精心雕刻的立体画卷。“这里的原始森林与山下稻田、村落交织，人与自然和谐共生，成就了无与伦比的美学享受。”如余登利所说的那样，荔波这片土地，既是自然的奇迹，也是人类与自然对话的诗篇。

Compared to the karst mountains of Guangxi,Libo's cone-shaped peaks are less steep but are beautifully arranged in continuous patterns,creating a stunning natural relief."The pristine forests here are intertwined with rice fields and villages below,forming a perfect balance between humans and nature,offering an extraordinary aesthetic experience,"Yu said.

除了壮丽的喀斯特山水，荔波还是全球喀斯特地区生物多样性的“基因库”。在茂兰自然保护区内，国家一级保护动物达9种，一级保护植物6种，二级保护动植物近200种，这些珍稀物种在全国乃至全球范围内都极为罕见。余登利自豪地表示：“我们的任务不仅是保护喀斯特地貌的原生性，更要保障这些濒危物种的栖息地不受威胁。”

In addition to its stunning karst landscapes,Libo is known as a"gene bank"of biodiversity in global karst regions. Maolan Nature Reserve is home to nine nationally protected animal species,six protected plant species,and nearly 200 species of protected flora and fauna,many of which are rare both in China and worldwide.

荔波的自然资源，远远不止于此。这片土地承载着无数动植物的生存与繁衍，生态系统丰富多样，堪称中国喀斯特地貌的缩影，更是世界生态保护的典范。

Libo's natural resources go far beyond its biodiversity. This land,rich in ecosystems,supports countless species and represents a microcosm of China's karst landscapes,making it a model for global ecological conservation.

1997年，荔波启动了世界自然遗产的申报工作。自此，生态考察队员们几乎每日跋涉于山林之间，冒着艰险，搜集着宝贵的生态数据。余登利回忆道：“我们曾在洞穴中与大蛇擦肩而过，也曾在山林中守候数小时，只为拍摄一只珍稀动物。那时候，我们一直在坚持，在等待，直到申遗成果被专家认可的那一刻。”

The journey to World Heritage recognition began in 1997,when Libo launched its nomination process. From that point on,ecological researchers braved the mountains daily,gathering valuable data under challenging conditions."We encountered snakes in caves and waited for hours in the forest to photograph a single rare animal,"Yu recalled.

十年艰辛，终见辉煌。2007年，荔波喀斯特的世界自然遗产申报获得全票通过。这一认证，为地方经济转型升级提供了前所未有的机遇。余登利谈到：“荔波申遗成功，不仅让当地生态保护的成果得到了全球认可，也为贵州带来了旅游发展的契机。‘生态立县，旅游富民’的战略正在为当地居民带来实实在在的好处。”

After a decade of perseverance,Libo Karst's application for World Heritage status was unanimously approved in 2007. This recognition brought unprecedented opportunities for local economic transformation."The success of Libo's World Heritage designation not only gained global acknowledgment for our ecological conservation efforts but also created new opportunities for tourism development in Guizhou,"said Yu Dengli.
